Spring / Summer Sports

Baseball-Coed, Ages 4-16 (2011)

Season: Practices begin in April. Games start in early May.

Location:

Park League: Games played at Melvin Miller Park

5 & Under (T-Ball), 7 & Under (Sparky League), 9 & Under (Minor League)

Champaign County League: 12 & Under (Little League), *13 (Pony-Prep), 16 7 Under (Pony League)

Games could be played @ Urbana City Park, Goshen Park in Mechanicsburg, and GYAA Park in St. Paris, North Lewisburg or other locations.

Sign-ups: February 26th & March 5th from 10-2 at the Urbana Youth Sports Building in Urbana (by the soccer fields).

Age Groups: (2011) - Date is as of May 1st, 2010.

Age Groups have changed to be common with other teams in county. If your child has already played 2 year's in an Age Group, you have the option to leave them or move them up.

T-Ball ( 6 & Under): T-ball practices start mid-April and can be at either 5 or 6 pm.  The time and day of the week will be determined by the coach.  They will practice twice a week for 2 weeks.  Games start May 1st.  The season is 6 weeks long, generally with 1 game a week.  The games could be any night of the week, with a possible game or two on a Saturday morning.

Sparky League ( 8 & Under): Coach Pitch

Minor League ( 10 & Under): Player Pitch

Little League ( 12 & Under): Player Pitch (This League will travel for some games to St. Paris & Mechanicsburg.

Pony-Prep ( 13 ): High School size field. Travels to nearby communities for some games, mainly St. Paris and Mechanicsburg. This age group is pending, based on number of sign-ups sign-ups here and at Graham and Mechanicsburg. If not enough enrollment, players will be placed in Pony League, with the hope of still playing some 13 year-old games.

Pony League (16 & Under): High School size field. Travels to nearby communities for some games.

*The number of 14U & 16U sign-ups will determine extent of activity with Pony/Pony-Prep. 13 year old players may be placed in 16 & Under.

Enrollment Fees for the 2011 season :

• Sign-up at the Urbana Park on Feb 26th or March 5th th from 10-2 - $35
• Mail-In received by March 5 th - $40
• Mail-In received after March 5 th and by March 19 th – add $20 late fee

Required Equipment: Ball Glove

Suggested Equipment: Cleats

Optional Equipment: Bat, Helmet, Batting Gloves
